Westfield Specialty names Nicole Preis head of distribution for Nordics
The appointment comes as Westfield Specialty scales in the Nordics after setting up a European market platform in Luxembourg in 2025.
Westfield Specialty, a global specialty insurance carrier, is expanding its European footprint in the Nordic region by appointing Nicole Victoria Preis as Head of Distribution for the Nordics, Reinsurance News reports. Preis will report directly to Cornelia Roskau, CEO of Westfield Specialty International (Europe) S.A., with a matrix reporting line to Sarah McNally, Head of Distribution International.
In her new role, Preis will lead the firm’s distribution strategy across the Nordics, focusing on building relationships with brokers and partners while supporting delivery of Westfield Specialty’s specialty insurance proposition to clients in the region. The company said Preis brings more than 15 years of insurance industry experience, including work at AIG as Senior Client and Broker Engagement Director for the Nordics.
Westfield Specialty tied the Nordics push to its broader European setup, noting that it established its European company market platform in Luxembourg in 2025. That platform enables the carrier to write risks on company paper, alongside existing capacity through Lloyd’s Syndicate 1200.
In comments shared with the outlet, Roskau said the Nordics expansion is an important step in the firm’s European strategy and that Preis’s appointment is meant to help build local broker and client relationships on the ground as it expands beyond the Lloyd’s market. Preis said she is joining during what she described as an exciting phase of the company’s European expansion, and pointed to its specialist underwriting capabilities for the Nordic market.
