Panattoni files plans for 1.04 million sq ft logistics complex in Kent
The proposed Panattoni Park Maidstone is set on a 70-acre former manufacturing site, with two units planned at 100,000 sq ft and 150,000 sq ft for phase one.
Industrial real estate developer Panattoni has filed a hybrid planning application for Panattoni Park Maidstone, a proposed 1.04 million square feet logistics and industrial complex in Lenham, Kent, according to Yahoo Finance.
The submission is split into two phases. Phase one includes detailed plans for two units sized at 100,000 sq ft and 150,000 sq ft, while phase two is an outline application intended to give future occupiers build-to-suit options, Panattoni stated.
Panattoni says the development would be built on a 70-acre former manufacturing site and is positioned near the A20 and M20, providing routes to London, the M25, and major ports with UK and continental European connections. The plan also includes targets for BREEAM Excellent certification and EPC A+ energy ratings, and is designed to support logistics, manufacturing, and distribution operations.
The company said the application follows local consultation, including a public event earlier this year with more than 150 attendees, and feedback showing 98.5% of respondents favored brownfield redevelopment over greenfield construction. Property agents Colliers, CBRE, and Vail Williams have been appointed to market the site, and Panattoni says the scheme would include about 5 km of new and upgraded roads, cycleways, and public footpaths, plus landscaping and improved access.
