Blue Origin manufacturing plant proposal advanced for Hutto, Texas
The Project Blue Hub site would total 1.3 million square feet and carry an estimated $650 million cost, with potential for up to 2,000 local jobs.
ConnectCRE reports that a proposed manufacturing plant linked to Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin aerospace company could be headed to Hutto, Texas, where it would join a cluster of Central Texas spaceflight employers.
The proposed Project Blue Hub facility is described as roughly the size of 26 football fields, totaling 1.3 million square feet, with an estimated cost of $650 million.
ConnectCRE adds that Hutto’s economic development agency has been working on financial incentives that would be tied to a Blue Origin commitment.
If the plans move forward, the company expects the project could bring up to 2,000 jobs to the area.
