Dogechain keeps producing blocks after shutdown, leaving DOGE recovery unclear

Dogechain’s bridge page still showed “Current DOGE on Chain” at about 2.1 million DOGE, but no successful post-cutoff withdrawal was demonstrated.

Dogechain, an Ethereum compatible network associated with Dogecoin, kept producing blocks after its announced 12:00 UTC shutdown deadline on Aug. 8, leaving the recovery status of DOGE holders’ remaining balances unclear, CryptoSlate reports.

According to CryptoSlate, Dogechain’s official RPC showed block 62,578,500 just before noon and block 62,578,578 shortly after, with a timestamp of 12:01:52 UTC. The official explorer remained available minutes later and showed the chain at block 62,578,630, with recent blocks attributed to multiple miner addresses, indicating that block production did not stop immediately.

CryptoSlate also found that Dogechain’s project run bridge interface stayed online, with its dashboard displaying 2,081,715.83 DOGE as “Current DOGE on Chain.” However, the outlet notes that it was not shown whether any withdrawals succeeded after the cutoff, and the dashboard total does not specify which balances are recoverable or user controlled.

Separately, CryptoSlate reports that a Dogechain specific QuickSwap route continued sending users to Polygon via chain ID 137, while the ordinary Dogechain interface for swaps and liquidity management was unavailable through that route. QuickSwap had warned users to withdraw assets and liquidity positions before the shutdown, and the split in service availability after noon left a partially unresolved path for remaining DOGE assets.
