Indico Data discloses cybersecurity incident involving customer data

The Boston-based insurance automation provider said it may have exposed names, addresses, and Social Security numbers and is offering free credit monitoring through TransUnion.

Indico Data, an insurance automation provider backed by Aviva, disclosed a cybersecurity incident that it said may have exposed personal information belonging to customers’ employees or policyholders. The company determined on May 7, 2026, that an unauthorized party may have accessed online repositories containing corporate customer information, according to Coverager.

Potentially affected data includes names, addresses, and Social Security numbers. Indico said it is reviewing the compromised data to identify impacted individuals and has notified affected corporate customers.

The company said it has begun mailing notices and is offering free credit monitoring and identity restoration services through TransUnion. After the incident, Indico rotated access credentials, added monitoring tools, and tightened access controls.

Indico, founded in 2013 and based in Boston, provides AI-powered automation technology used in insurance underwriting, claims, midterm adjustments, and broker reconciliation. Coverager also noted Indico has raised about $49 million from investors including Guidewire, Nationwide Ventures, Aviva Ventures, and .406 Ventures.
