Kestrel Group reports $6.7m Q2 2026 total revenues amid net loss

Q2 2026 gross premiums written rose to $1.4 million, and Program Services fee revenue climbed to $3.7 million, up 587.9% year over year.

Kestrel Group, a specialty insurance and reinsurance platform, reported $6.7 million in total revenues for the second quarter of 2026, even as it posted a net loss of $8.1 million. The results compare with $5.5 million in total revenues and net income of $69.9 million in the year-ago quarter, according to Reinsurance News.

The company said gross premiums written increased to $1.4 million from $1.1 million in Q2 2025, while net premiums written also reached $1.4 million versus $1.1 million a year earlier. Net premiums earned rose to $3.5 million, up from $2.4 million in the prior-year quarter.

For the first half of 2026, Kestrel reported $16.9 million in total revenues, down from the $6.4 million recorded in the first half of 2025, and a net loss of $15.5 million compared with net income of $69.5 million in H1 2025.

Reinsurance News said Kestrel attributed the growth to its Program Services segment, which provides fronting services to general agents and insurance carriers seeking access to the US property and casualty market. In Q2 2026, total fee revenues from Program Services were $3.7 million, a 587.9% increase over Q2 2025, and premiums produced by client programs totaled $109.6 million, up 479.8% year over year.
