Trump Media bitcoin holdings fall as digital asset losses mount
Truth Social parent Trump Media reported $360.6 million in digital-asset losses for the first half of 2026, including unrealized fair value declines.
CoinDesk reports that Trump Media and Technology Group, the Truth Social parent, saw its bitcoin holdings shrink in the second quarter as weaker crypto prices drove larger losses in its digital-asset portfolio.
In its quarterly filing, the company said it held 9,477.16 BTC as of June 30, with a fair value of $557.1 million. That compares with 9,542.16 BTC at the end of March, a decline of 65 BTC during the quarter, and the fair value dropped from $836 million at the end of 2025.
CoinDesk adds that Trump Media recorded $360.6 million in losses on digital assets and digital assets pledged during the first half of 2026, much of it unrealized. A portion of its bitcoin is pledged as collateral, with 4,260.73 BTC pledged against convertible notes and 2,077.34 BTC pledged for its bitcoin options strategy as of June 30.
The filing and results come days after Trump Media pared back crypto plans, CoinDesk reports. Trump Media, Crypto.com, and Yorkville Acquisition mutually terminated a proposed business combination for a publicly traded CRO treasury company and also abandoned an ETF servicing partnership, citing prevailing market conditions and shifting business and stakeholder priorities.
