TSMC sales jump 45% as AI chip demand stays strong

The Taiwan chipmaker supplies major AI customers including Nvidia and Google, making its results a read-through for the broader AI semiconductor cycle.

TSMC, the world's biggest contract chipmaker, reported a 45% surge in sales, reflecting continued strength in demand tied to artificial intelligence chips, according to CNBC Markets.

As a supplier of chips to major Big Tech customers including Nvidia and Google, TSMC's financial performance is widely used as an indicator of the health of AI-related semiconductor demand, CNBC World said.

CNBC Earnings noted that investors closely watch the company’s sales momentum because it can signal whether AI hardware spending remains buoyant across the industry.
