Westland Insurance buys Interior Savings Insurance in British Columbia

The acquisition brings Interior Savings, with 13 locations and more than 80 years of service, into Westland’s brokerage network while maintaining its local presence.

Westland Insurance has acquired Interior Savings Insurance Services to expand its footprint in British Columbia, according to Coverager.

Interior Savings operates 13 locations across the Thompson, Okanagan and Similkameen regions and has served clients for more than 80 years, offering personal and commercial coverage such as home, auto, travel and business insurance. Under the deal, Interior Savings will maintain its local presence and service while its client relationships and insurance portfolio move into Westland.

Coverager reports that the acquisition strengthens Westland’s position as one of Canada’s largest insurance brokers, which trades more than $4 billion in premium across commercial, personal, employee benefits, farm and specialty insurance.

Westland said the transaction aligns with its values and supports continued investment in digital capabilities, data and AI, with Jamie Lyons, President and CEO, calling it an opportunity to deliver tailored protection to more clients across the province.
