AIG appoints Christopher O’Connor to lead professional liability and cyber

O’Connor, based in the New York area, will report to Justin Gilmore, head of financial lines for North America.

AIG has appointed Christopher O’Connor as Head of Professional Liability and Cyber, North America, as Reinsurance News reports.

The move is described as an internal promotion for O’Connor, who has been with AIG for more than 15 years. He joined the insurer in November 2010 as an underwriting analyst, later leading AIG’s financial institution cyber business.

Most recently, O’Connor served as North America Head of Corporate Accounts for AIG’s professional liability and cyber insurance. Reinsurance News adds that he is based in the New York area.

AIG’s Justin Gilmore, head of financial lines for North America, said O’Connor has progressed through multiple underwriting and leadership roles, including working closely with large financial institution clients while leading financial institution cyber. O’Connor will report to Gilmore in his new role.
