Spinnaker partners with In The Car to expand embedded motor insurance
The deal targets offering bindable personal motor insurance quotes in under 45 seconds across all 50 states over the next three years.
Spinnaker Insurance Company, a US insurer and subsidiary of Hippo Holdings Inc., has signed a nationwide partnership with In The Car (ITC) to expand the availability of embedded motor insurance across the United States.
Under the agreement, Spinnaker plans to provide bindable personal motor insurance cover in all 50 US states over the next three years, integrating the quotation and policy binding process into the vehicle purchasing journey.
ITC said its platform connects with dealer management systems, enabling consumers to receive bindable insurance quotes in less than 45 seconds while buying a vehicle. It also said Spinnaker’s admitted paper and nationwide presence will allow the capability to be extended to dealership partners and original equipment manufacturer relationships across each market.
The companies described ITC’s approach as a point of sale distribution channel, and Spinnaker said it selected ITC based on its distribution model and underwriting approach. Reinsurance News also noted the embedded insurance platform is currently active across more than 110 dealerships and that Spinnaker has established OEM partnerships, along with a distribution partnership with TrueCar.
