Amynta to acquire Southern States Underwriters in deal expected by Q4 2026
The acquisition covers Southern States Cooperative's insurance operations, with financial terms undisclosed and the close contingent on regulatory approval.
Amynta Group has agreed to acquire Southern States Underwriters and SSC Insurance Agency, collectively Southern States Underwriters, which are the insurance operations of Southern States Cooperative, Inc., according to Reinsurance News.
The deal is expected to close in the final quarter of 2026, subject to obtaining regulatory approval, and the financial details were not disclosed.
Southern States Underwriters is a managing general underwriter founded in 1953 and based in Richmond, Virginia, providing commercial property and casualty insurance tailored to agricultural suppliers, distributors, and service providers.
The announcement says President John Madden is expected to continue leading the business after the transaction, as Amynta seeks to add a specialized agribusiness market segment to its platform.
