Barnes & Noble to open new Chicago store in former Borders building
The retailer’s new location will total more than 20,000 square feet on State Street, bringing one of its fourth 2024 openings in the Chicago area.
Barnes & Noble announced plans to open a new bookstore in Chicago at 150 N State Street, in The Loop along State Street, according to ConnectCRE.
The store will be housed in a historic building that previously operated as a flagship Borders Bookstore and was more recently occupied by Old Navy.
ConnectCRE reports the new location is planned to span more than 20,000 square feet.
The Chicago opening will be the fourth new Barnes & Noble bookstore to launch in the Chicagoland area this year, following openings in Skokie, Hyde Park, and Oak Park, with the company now operating more than 720 bookstores.
