Insurance Business America has released its 2026 rankings of the best insurance carriers and program administrators in the United States in its sixth year of the annual program.
The survey and associated report are designed to answer which carriers and program administrators perform best, emphasizing program administration firms that hold underwriting authority, set pricing and appetite across books of business, and operate with capital provided by partner carriers.
IBA says the 2026 outlook from Vertafore points to a shift in focus toward underwriting consistency, loss-ratio stability, and portfolio discipline, with MGAs that show sustained performance viewed as better positioned to secure and retain capacity.
The report’s 5-Star winners are chosen using peer input from program administrators and carrier evaluations, with nominees ranked by largest programs, demonstrated expertise and stability, and innovation in program development.
