Nvidia to invest $70 billion in AI ecosystem partners
Bank of America estimates Nvidia has committed $70 billion in equity investments into OpenAI, Anthropic, and Safe Superintelligence, with the analysis saying the plan is manageable versus about $470 billion of expected free cash flow in 2026 to 2027.
Nvidia plans to commit $70 billion in equity investments into AI ecosystem partners, a move that targets companies such as OpenAI and Anthropic, according to new research cited by Yahoo Finance.
The portfolio includes $30 billion in OpenAI, up to $10 billion in Anthropic, and $5 billion in Safe Superintelligence, reflecting Nvidia's strategy to back next-generation firms that are expected to pursue high-profile exits.
Bank of America analyst Vivek Arya, as quoted in the coverage, said the investment is manageable given Nvidia's projected ability to generate roughly $470 billion in free cash flow over 2026 to 2027, or about 15% of that figure.
The story also notes Nvidia shares have gained 4% over the past month and that investors are watching the company's Aug. 26 earnings report, with the S&P 500 up 2.4% during the same stretch.
