Real estate AI summit speaker warns against replacing agent-client talks
He said his firm uses AI for background tasks like reconnect prompts and prioritized outreach lists, with the goal of freeing agents to focus on personal conversations.
At HousingWire’s AI Summit, Thad Wong cautioned against using artificial intelligence to replace the direct conversation between real estate agents and clients.
According to HousingWire, Wong, co-founder and co-CEO of @properties Christie’s International Real Estate, said the idea of conducting an AI dialogue with a client until a substantive point and then handing off to an agent was a “really bad idea,” arguing it is not a good use of technology.
HousingWire reports Wong described AI as best suited for background and repeated workflows that occur before and after core conversations, so agents can spend more time interacting with consumers.
He added that his firm uses AI to support agent-client relationships, including tools that help agents reconnect with past clients by using prior communication context and outreach lists to improve conversions.
