RiverStone International names David Soutter group chief risk officer
Soutter previously led risk in Bermuda and joined the firm in April 2025 from Zurich.
RiverStone International, a global acquirer and reinsurer of legacy and discontinued business, has promoted David Soutter to Group Chief Risk Officer (CRO). The appointment follows Soutter’s role as Head of Risk in Bermuda, which he took on after joining the company last year.
Soutter joined RiverStone in April 2025 from Zurich, where he held multiple senior leadership posts, including Chief Financial Officer of its Bermuda operations and Project Director, Internal Reinsurance. He brings more than 25 years of experience across insurance and reinsurance markets, with expertise spanning enterprise risk management, finance, capital oversight, and regulatory engagement.
In his new position, Soutter will report to Group Chief Executive Officer Paul Brockman and lead the company’s global risk function. The reinsurance carrier said his experience in risk, capital, and regulatory matters positions him to further strengthen RiverStone’s risk framework to support its strategic objectives.
RiverStone Chief Executive Officer Paul Brockman praised Soutter’s contributions since joining, while Soutter said he is looking to work across the group to build on the company’s disciplined risk management and execution.
