SpaceX and Northrop Grumman complete first Golden Dome interceptor tests

SpaceX and Northrop Grumman have completed the first round of critical tests for the US Space Force's Golden Dome space-based missile-defense program, a milestone aimed at progress toward building intercept capabilities in orbit, according to Yahoo Finance.
General Michael Guetlein said the next phase will focus on demonstrating the technologies can operate in space, following the successful tests for space-based missile interceptors.
The program is part of a wider effort backed by a $185 billion initiative, and both companies are positioned to benefit in different ways, with SpaceX potentially expanding a national-security space business and Northrop adding the effort to its existing defense portfolio.
