Two Russian grain terminals suspend operations after drone attacks
The terminals together can export 15.6 million tonnes and are located at Russia's southern Novorossiysk port, a key Black Sea shipping hub for wheat.
Two Russian grain terminals at the southern port of Novorossiysk have suspended operations after overnight drone attacks attributed to Ukraine, Reuters reported.
The Novorossiysk Grain Terminal, owned by Demetra Holding, has capacity of 8.5 million tonnes and was halting operations while it assesses unspecified damage, according to the outlet.
A second terminal, NKHP, has capacity of 7.1 million tonnes, also sustained damage and stopped operations, Reuters said.
Russia is the world’s largest wheat exporter and ships most of its wheat through Black Sea ports, Reuters added, noting that recent weeks have seen both Russia and Ukraine target grain infrastructure.
