The Energy Information Administration expects 2026 average marketed production of 122.5 Bcf/d, above the 2025 record of 118.5 Bcf/d.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says the United States is on track to set a record for marketed natural gas production in 2026.

In its August 2026 Short-Term Energy Outlook, the EIA forecasts average U.S. marketed natural gas production of 122.5 billion cubic feet per day in 2026.

That would surpass the previous record of 118.5 Bcf/d set in 2025, according to the agency.
