Vodafone Idea shares rise up to 6% in Mumbai trade, extending streak

The stock’s rally follows Q1FY27 results that showed net loss narrowing to ₹3,754 crore and ARPU rising to ₹195, supporting sentiment.

Vodafone Idea shares jumped as much as 6% in morning trade on the BSE on Wednesday, August 12, after opening flat at ₹12.92 and reaching an intraday high of ₹13.70, according to LiveMint Markets.

The gain marked a push for a fourth straight session, with shares up more than 8% over the prior four sessions. Year-to-date, the stock has risen 16%, and it has delivered multibagger returns of 108% over the past year, the outlet said.

LiveMint Markets attributed the positive reaction to recent quarterly results, including an increase in ARPU to ₹195, up 10.2% year over year, described as the highest ARPU growth in the industry. The April to June quarter results also showed net loss of ₹3,754 crore, down from ₹6,608 crore in the same quarter a year earlier, while consolidated revenue from operations rose 2.4% to ₹11,689 crore.

The report noted that brokerage coverage was largely unchanged after the Q1 print, with Motilal Oswal maintaining a neutral rating and JM Financial keeping an add view, while both updated targets and assumptions. Motilal cited a revival that hinges on sustained tariff changes, stabilization of consumer wireless subs trends, more rational subscriber acquisition, and continued regulatory support including relief on spectrum dues.
