HUB sues Alliant over alleged producer non-solicit breach
HUB says the former producer joined Alliant on June 26, 2026, and that broker of record letters for three accounts soon shifted business within days.
HUB International Midwest filed a federal lawsuit on August 11, 2026, in Fort Myers, Florida, against a former senior producer and competitor Alliant Insurance Services, alleging the producer left HUB without notice and took key clients to his new firm.
According to the complaint from Insurance Business, the producer resigned from HUB on June 26, 2026 and joined Alliant the same day, despite a two-year non-solicitation agreement that barred him from soliciting, servicing, or interfering with HUB clients for the competitor.
HUB alleges that within days, three accounts previously handled by the producer delivered broker of record letters switching their insurance coverage to Alliant. HUB also points to a clause it says requires payment equal to two times lost revenues tied to any breach, and it claims the producer raised concerns with at least one client about HUB's support while describing Alliant's team as fully in place.
The filing states the producer's book generated about $1.6 million per year and that his largest client accounted for roughly $573,000. HUB also alleges the client said the move was not a reflection of the team and that its property program has been a standout since the client moved to HUB, while claiming Alliant proceeded despite knowledge of the restrictive agreement.
