Japan July PPI rises 7.2% year over year, below forecast
The yen-linked inflation gauge increased 0.1% month over month, missing the 0.6% expected rise.
Japan's producer price index rose 7.2% year over year in July, according to Forexlive. The reading was below the 7.4% forecast and followed a prior increase of 7.1%.
On a month over month basis, the PPI gained 0.1%, versus expectations for a 0.6% increase, after a prior 0.4% rise.
