Nandan Denim shares jump after profit rises, revenue falls in June quarter

The company’s Q1FY27 net profit grew 31.8% to ₹14.79 lakh, even as operating revenue fell 40.6% to ₹622.39 lakh, with profit support tied to a tax-related adjustment.

Nandan Denim shares rose more than 7% on Thursday, August 13, after the company posted results for the June quarter, even though revenue declined sharply. LiveMint reports that in Q1FY27, net profit increased 31.8% to ₹14.79 lakh from ₹11.20 lakh a year earlier. Operating revenue fell 40.6% year over year to ₹622.39 lakh, down from ₹1,047.68 lakh in Q1FY26, and total expenses declined to ₹614.50 lakh from ₹1,034.40 lakh. The profit improvement was driven largely by non-operating factors, with LiveMint noting that a tax-related credit of ₹5.07 lakh from short provision for income tax and deferred tax for earlier years helped lift the bottom line. In contrast, deferred tax expense for the current quarter was ₹58.98 lakh, and profit before tax was ₹10.32 lakh versus ₹14.82 lakh in the prior-year period. The company also reappointed Jyotiprasad Devkinandan Chiripal as managing director for another five-year term, subject to shareholder approval, with the new tenure running from 1 June 2027 to 31 May 2032. LiveMint said Chiripal has served as managing director since 2017 and has more than four decades of experience in the fabric and yarn industry.
