XRP holds near $1 as US Senate delays Clarity Act vote
The outlook for 2026 passage of the Clarity Act slipped to 14% before recovering to 22%, while XRP trading volume remains thin at $1.2 billion.
XRP was trading around the $1 level for the first time since November 2024 as attention in the US shifted after the Senate said it would postpone its vote on the Clarity Act to September, according to Yahoo Finance.
The same coverage said the odds of the bill passing in 2026 dropped to a yearly low of 14% before rebounding to 22% in recent days, while XRP continued to push through lower price zones despite the improvement.
Yahoo Finance also pointed to relatively light activity, with trading volumes at about $1.2 billion and roughly 1.9% of XRP’s circulating market cap at the time of writing. It added that open interest appears to have risen versus the prior period when XRP traded at $1, suggesting more positioning around the level.
On-chain and social data cited by Yahoo Finance showed daily active addresses picking up since July 21 despite falling prices, and Santiment data indicating social volume momentum had been weakening after a late-June crossover in moving averages. The piece warned that if XRP breaks below $1, volatility could increase and the setup points to downside risk.
