Bank Leumi to launch crypto trading via Galaxy in early 2027
The service will let Leumi and Pepper customers buy, hold, and sell bitcoin, ether, and solana through the Leumi Trade app, with Galaxy providing trading and custody infrastructure.
Israel’s largest bank, Bank Leumi, plans to offer cryptocurrency trading to customers starting in early 2027, becoming the first Israeli bank to announce such a service, according to CoinDesk.
Leumi said customers of Leumi and its mobile banking unit, Pepper, will be able to buy, hold, and sell bitcoin, ether, and solana through a dedicated section of the Leumi Trade app.
Galaxy Digital will provide the trading and custody infrastructure through GalaxyOne Institutional, and Leumi has also signed an agreement to use Galaxy’s custody offering, formerly known as GK8.
The companies did not disclose commercial terms, fees, or customer eligibility requirements. CoinDesk reported it reached out to Bank Leumi for further comment.
