Hong Kong cools after nine hot days as amber rain warning issued
The Hong Kong Observatory recorded 23 to 29 C by 8:45am Friday, down from 33 C or higher during the prior nine-day heat streak.
Hong Kong temperatures dropped after a streak of nine very hot days, as the city’s weather forecaster issued an amber rainstorm warning on Friday morning, according to SCMP Economy.
As of 8:45am, the Observatory recorded temperatures between 23 and 29 degrees Celsius across different districts, down from 33 degrees Celsius or higher over the past nine days.
The Observatory issued the amber warning at 8:40am, the lowest tier in its rainstorm system, meaning heavy rain exceeding 30mm in an hour has fallen or is expected to fall generally over Hong Kong.
The forecast calls for showers with sunny intervals over the weekend, with temperatures expected to range between 27 and 33 degrees Celsius.
