Mortgage rates rise again, pushing housing into a rough patch

CNBC Real Estate says mortgage rates are now the highest in more than a year after jumping at the start of the war with Iran.

Mortgage rates recently fell to a low by the end of February, but they rose sharply after the start of the war with Iran, according to CNBC Real Estate.

The outlet reports that mortgage rates are now at their highest level in more than a year, a shift that housing investors describe as their worst market in at least three years.

As rates moved higher from that late-February low, investors signaled increasing pressure on the housing market, with the change tied to the Iran-war period rather than the prior decline.
