Housing investors cite the worst mortgage-rate environment in 3 years
Mortgage rates, after a late-February dip, have climbed back to their highest level in more than a year amid heightened rate pressure.
CNBC Real Estate reports that housing investors are describing the current mortgage-rate backdrop as their weakest market environment in at least three years.
The outlet points to mortgage rates, which fell to a recent low at the end of February before rising sharply at the start of the war with Iran.
CNBC Real Estate says rates are now back at their highest level in over a year.
As a result, investors view the rebound in mortgage rates as a renewed headwind for housing sentiment and financing conditions.
