SPML Infra shares rise after Q1 profit surges 87%

The water and energy infrastructure firm reported revenue up 74% year on year to ₹286 crore and booked ₹1,293 crore in new orders during the quarter.

SPML Infra shares edged up 2.3% to ₹191 in Friday trading after the company posted strong results for the June quarter, defying a weak market trend, according to LiveMint Markets.

The company said revenue grew 74% year on year to ₹286 crore, while EBITDA rose 81% to ₹28.3 crore and EBITDA margin improved to 9.9% from 9.5%. Net profit jumped 87% year on year to ₹22.7 crore.

SPML Infra attributed the profitability increase to execution of new orders secured under SPML 2.0 and said it expects at least 25% growth while sustaining momentum through FY27. It added ₹1,293 crore of new orders, taking its total order book to about ₹5,094 crore.

The company also updated progress on its battery energy storage systems facility at SUPA MIDC, Pune, saying it completed Phase 1 of a 2.5 GWh assembly line and is pursuing IEC/UL certifications for battery packs tied to an NTPC order, with targeting for billing in Q4 subject to approvals. It plans to scale to 5 GWh and 600 container units annually by H1 FY28.
