Centene names Chris Neczypor as next chief financial officer
Neczypor will assume the CFO title on January 1, 2027, after working with Drew Asher during a handover period.
Centene Corporation has named Chris Neczypor as its next chief financial officer, replacing Drew Asher as Asher steps down from the role on December 31 and retires from the company at the end of 2027, according to Insurance Business.
Neczypor joins Centene from Lincoln Financial Group, where he has served as executive vice president and CFO since February 2023, after earlier roles including chief strategy officer. He will join Centene in September and will work alongside Asher before formally taking over the CFO position on January 1, 2027.
The leadership change comes as Centene consolidates its financial recovery following a difficult 2025 period that included a $6.7 billion goodwill impairment charge in the third quarter and a full year diluted loss of $13.53 per share. By the second quarter of 2026, Centene returned to $1.1 billion in quarterly profit on revenues of $53.6 billion, and it raised its full year 2026 adjusted diluted EPS guidance to greater than $4.80.
Centene, the largest Medicaid managed care organization in the US, covers members across 30 states. The company said revenue grew from approximately $126 billion in 2021, when Asher became CFO, to approximately $195 billion in 2025.
