Odds rise but stay near 1-in-4 for Paramount to fail Warner Bros. Discovery bid
The shift comes as 12 states continue their effort to block the merger, with odds changing again after Paramount delayed the deal in late July.
Prediction market participants are assigning roughly a 25% chance that Paramount’s bid to buy Warner Bros. Discovery will fail, according to CNBC Finance.
That implied probability is higher than it was before 12 states sued to block the merger, the outlet said, but lower than levels seen after Paramount delayed the acquisition in late July.
CNBC Finance noted the odds moved in response to the latest legal and deal-timing developments, keeping uncertainty elevated around the bid’s outcome.
