Ledgebrook files trademark for Lash as it expands specialty insurance
The Boston-based specialty MGA filed the trademark on August 11, weeks after AM Best assigned A- financial strength ratings to two Ledgebrook specialty insurance companies.
Ledgebrook has filed a trademark application for “Lash,” a move that could point to a new brand or business expansion, Coverager reports. The filing, submitted August 11, covers insurance and reinsurance brokerage services, consultation, administration, and underwriting across general liability, cyber, professional liability, excess casualty, and property insurance, along with concierge services for insurance customers.
Coverager says Ledgebrook is a Boston-based specialty MGA founded in 2022, and it currently writes general casualty and supported excess business via MS Transverse after transitioning the program from Everspan. The company also disclosed that its Miscellaneous Professional Liability and Allied Healthcare product launched successfully with Obsidian.
Separately, one day before the trademark filing, AM Best assigned A- financial strength ratings to Ledgebrook Specialty Insurance Company and Stonehaven Specialty Insurance Company, the two members of the newly formed Ledgebrook Insurance Group, according to Coverager. Ledgebrook Specialty will provide capacity for the group’s own business, while Stonehaven Specialty is set to focus on third-party business, with both units owned by Ledgebrook Inc.
