MoonPay integrates Cash App Pay to let US users buy crypto

MoonPay’s checkout will accept eligible customers’ Cash App balances across its own purchase flow and select crypto partners.

MoonPay has added Cash App Pay as a funding option for cryptocurrency purchases by eligible US customers, using Cash App balances to pay directly through MoonPay’s checkout. According to Cointelegraph, the payment option is available via MoonPay’s own checkout and through select partners, including Trust Wallet, Bitcoin.com, MetaMask, Moonshot, Ledger, BitPay, Uniswap, Tangem, LOBSTR, and Edge.

The integration is designed to avoid users switching apps or completing separate logins when funding a purchase, Cointelegraph reported. MoonPay also supports other payment integrations, including PayPal and Venmo, after adding PayPal in 2024 and later expanding to Venmo.

Cointelegraph added that Cash App already enables customers to buy and sell Bitcoin within its app, operated by Block, and that Cash App reported 59 million active users in June in Block’s second-quarter shareholder report. MoonPay is licensed by New York’s Department of Financial Services and is authorized under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation in the Netherlands.
