Cash App expands beyond bitcoin and USDC via MoonPay crypto purchases

The MoonPay integration will let eligible U.S. Cash App users buy tokens including ether, solana, XRP, and USDT and also fund wallets like MetaMask and Uniswap using Cash App balances.

CoinDesk reports that Cash App is expanding its crypto offering beyond bitcoin and USDC by adding support for MoonPay, a crypto payments platform that routes customers to a wider set of digital assets.

Through the integration, eligible U.S. Cash App users will be able to use their Cash App balances to purchase tokens offered by MoonPay, including ether, solana, XRP, and USDT, as well as fund wallets such as Ledger, BitPay, Trust Wallet, MetaMask, and Uniswap.

Cash App’s crypto service historically focused on bitcoin purchases until it added USDC earlier this year, and the move marks the first time it is opening access to multiple additional assets through the MoonPay payment channel.

Block’s global partnerships lead, Morgan Kuntze, said in an announcement that while bitcoin remains core to its digital asset strategy, the company wants to provide customers choice and flexibility in how they pay.
