W. R. Berkley Corporation reported higher premiums ceded to its Lifson Re collateralized reinsurance sidecar for both the second quarter and the first half of 2026, alongside an increase in fee income from the structure, according to Artemis.

For 2Q 2026, the company ceded $148.5 million of premiums to Lifson Re, compared with $140.3 million in 1Q 2026. In 1H 2026, it ceded just over $267 million of premiums, which Artemis notes was higher than the $245.5 million ceded in the second half of 2025.

The outlet also said fee income generated from management and performance related compensation tied to Lifson Re rose to $5.0 million in the first half of 2026, up from $3.0 million a year earlier.

Artemis added that the sidecar’s capitalisation and Berkley’s stake and quota share cession ratio remained unchanged for the 2026 underwriting year at 32.5%.
