Alliant to buy Nava Benefits in AI-focused broker tech deal

The broker deal adds Nava’s HQ platform, which Nava says automates most member support inquiries using AI, to Alliant’s employee benefits offering.

Alliant Insurance Services has agreed to acquire Nava Benefits, a New York-based employee benefits broker founded in 2019, adding Nava’s proprietary technology platform that connects producers, service teams, HR departments, and employees on a single system.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Barclays advised Nava on the transaction, and Nava is described as a platform company rather than primarily a traditional book of business with a technology overlay.

The acquisition comes as large brokers increasingly pursue buying AI or technology-native benefits firms instead of building similar capabilities internally. In December 2025, WTW agreed to acquire Newfront for up to $1.3 billion.

Nava raised $90.2 million across three funding rounds, including a $30 million Series C led by Thrive Capital in October 2025, and it serves about 70,000 members, according to reporting on that funding round. Nava’s platform, called HQ, is designed for real-time renewal quoting and scenario modeling, and the company says its AI resolves 81 percent of member support inquiries with a member satisfaction score of 4.5 out of 5, alongside a lifetime net promoter score of 89, while independent verification of those performance claims is not settled in the reporting.
