Fermat Capital adds Nicolas Tan to expand APAC investor outreach
The catastrophe bond and insurance-linked securities manager said it is also setting up a Japan office to market Fermat ILS fund strategies to Japanese investors.
Fermat Capital Management, a specialist catastrophe bond and insurance-linked securities investment manager, is expanding its investor relations footprint across Asia Pacific with the hire of Nicolas Tan in Singapore, and by setting up a Japanese office earlier this year, Artemis reports.
Tan joined Fermat as Director of Investor Relations, APAC, and will work alongside Greg Hickling, who joined in early 2025 and is based in Australia, to service Fermat’s investor clients across the region.
Fermat Capital (Japan) K.K. was created as a dedicated base to market Fermat ILS fund strategies to the Japanese investor base and to support investor clients there, according to the report. Takakiyo Iwamoto was named Director of Investor Relations for Japan and Co-Representative Director of the Japan entity, joining in January 2026.
The manager also hired Sachie Kobayashi as a Senior Investor Relations Associate for Japan at the start of the year, building out its local investor relations team for Fermat’s ILS strategies.
