Injective becomes SEC-registered transfer agent to expand onchain tokenization

Injective said the transfer agent registration supports official records of tokenized security ownership and related corporate actions, while its native token rose 8% on Wednesday.

Injective has become an SEC-registered transfer agent through its affiliate, Injective Institutional Services, as it expands efforts to bring regulated securities infrastructure on chain, according to The Block.

The outlet notes that transfer agents are responsible for maintaining official ownership records of a security, processing ownership changes, and handling functions such as distributions and other corporate actions.

Injective said the registration gives it regulated readiness to accelerate tokenization, combining that compliance framework with blockchain technology to aim for faster, more transparent transactions and easier automation, The Block reported.

The Block also said Injective’s native token was up 8% on Wednesday, putting its market cap at around $450 million. The company is a DeFi-focused Layer 1 incubated by Binance, and it previously launched pre-IPO perp futures last October, providing exposure to OpenAI and other private companies.
