Pets at Home launches pet insurance offering with Compare the Market

The new coverage will roll out through the Pets at Home website and app in September.

Pets at Home, the UK pet supplies retailer, has launched a new pet insurance offering, made available through insurance comparison site Compare the Market. The company said it designed the products to be easier for pet owners to understand.

Pets at Home said the three products remove features that can create confusion, including per-condition limits and multiple excess charges, and it also aims to simplify the claims process. The insurer positioning is supported by Pets at Home, which offers grooming and veterinary care and operates more than 450 stores in the UK.

The new pet insurance offering will also be available via the Pets at Home website and app starting in September, expanding distribution beyond the comparison site.

Pets at Home described the move as a response to what pet owners want, with Matt Poll, managing director at Pets Insurance, saying the simplified approach is intended to give pet owners greater confidence and peace of mind.
