Quantinuum teams with Quanta Computer to build scalable quantum hardware
The partnership targets hardware infrastructure for future Quantinuum systems, with its Sol platform aimed for 2027, as Quantinuum’s shares have risen about 18% since its June IPO.
Quantinuum (QNT) is partnering with Quanta Computer to develop the hardware infrastructure needed for future generations of quantum computers, with a focus on making systems more modular, scalable, and manufacturable at commercial volumes, Yahoo Finance reports.
The companies said the work centers on building out hardware infrastructure to support Quantinuum’s roadmap toward larger, more commercially deployable machines, leveraging Quanta’s manufacturing and cloud infrastructure expertise to help address the transition from prototypes to scaled deployments.
The deal comes as Quantinuum shares have moved sharply since its June IPO, rising about 18% while also hitting an all-time high near $86.79 before retreating on concerns about growth versus heavy losses, according to the report.
Quantinuum’s Sol system is targeted for 2027, and the coverage adds that Quantinuum’s second-quarter revenue increased 279% year over year, while Barchart data cited the stock trading at roughly 90 times sales.
