Aon restructures NFP leadership as middle-market reporting changes
The shakeup moves NFP’s middle-market leadership under Aon’s North America CEO, replacing the prior semi-autonomous reporting line.
Insurance Business reports that Aon has announced leadership changes tied to its NFP acquisition, including a restructuring that alters how the middle-market unit reports into its parent. Aon named Doug Hammond global executive chairman for its middle market segment, which includes NFP, moving him from his prior role as NFP CEO. Hammond will report directly to Aon president and CEO Greg Case, according to the outlet.
Mike Schneider, who joined NFP in 2003 and most recently led its US Central and West regions, has been named CEO of Middle Market, North America for both Aon and NFP. Ethan Foxman, previously president of NFP’s Atlantic Region, becomes president of the combined segment, while Mike James, formerly NFP’s chief sales officer, is set as chief growth officer.
The changes also adjust the governance structure created when Aon completed its NFP acquisition. Insurance Business says the deal was originally designed for NFP to operate as an “independent and connected” platform, but Schneider, Foxman and James now report through Aon’s North America CEO, Anne Corona, rather than through a semi-autonomous NFP reporting line. The outlet also notes that NFP president and COO Mike Goldman and executive vice president Ed O'Malley were named vice chairmen of NFP, with Schneider, Foxman and James joining Aon’s North America Executive Committee.
