Bitcoin and ethereum rise, shaking off months of crypto slump

Bitcoin and ethereum jumped on Thursday, marking what MarketWatch described as their best day in months after a prolonged stretch of muted trading.

The outlet said investors have been “flocking to hard assets,” helping revive momentum in a market that had been hard hit.

MarketWatch attributed the rally to expectations around President Donald Trump’s crypto-bill initiative, and also to a disturbance in bond markets that traders viewed as supportive for riskier assets like cryptocurrencies.
