Brinker COO sells 11,422 shares over two days
Most of the sale was tied to tax withholding after a vesting event, while the rest came from open market transactions.
Brinker International disclosed that its Chili's chief operating officer, Douglas N. Comings, sold 11,422 shares in transactions dated August 13 and August 14, based on an SEC Form 4 filing, according to Yahoo Finance.
The weighted average sale price was $241.25, and the post transaction value was based on the August 14 market close at $237.15. Yahoo Finance reports that 6,422 shares were non-discretionary and executed to cover tax obligations following a vesting event for 17,872 shares on August 13.
The remaining 5,000 shares were disposed of through direct open market sales. After the transactions, Comings held 19,509 shares, which represents a 0.05% ownership stake.
Yahoo Finance also noted that Brinker’s market capitalization was $10.2 billion as of the August 14 market close, and that the stock has posted a 50% return over the one year period ending on August 14. It added that 1,982 shares held indirectly are attributed to the Brinker Common Stock Fund within the firm’s 401(k) Savings Plan.
