California AG says Paramount-WBD merger case needs structural remedies
Rob Bonta said the antitrust settlement the states seek would require robust structural changes to address competitive concerns tied to the Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery transaction.
California Attorney General Rob Bonta told CNBC that any settlement of the states' antitrust lawsuit aimed at blocking the proposed Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery merger would require robust structural remedies.
Bonta was speaking as part of the states' effort to challenge the deal on competition grounds, according to CNBC, and said a negotiated resolution would have to include structural changes rather than narrower concessions.
The remarks were made during discussion of the antitrust case California and other states have brought to stop the companies from combining, as the transaction continues to face legal scrutiny.
