CRC Group creates transformation office to unify data and AI strategy
The office will be led by Matt Spriggs, while Jason Dufner has been promoted to chief information officer as CRC continues integrating its post-Truist business separation.
CRC Group has announced an enterprise-wide transformation strategy built around a newly created Transformation Management Office, designed to bring together the company’s data, AI, and technology capabilities across its wholesale specialty distribution businesses.
The company named Matt Spriggs to lead the new role as chief enterprise transformation officer. It also promoted Jason Dufner to chief information officer to run CRC’s information technology organization.
CRC CEO Dave Obenauer said the initiative is central to how the company plans to compete going forward, framing the Transformation Management Office as a way to shape the direction of the wholesale specialty industry rather than simply react to change.
The strategy comes about 18 months after CRC separated from Truist Financial. CRC’s broader changes included its $15.5 billion acquisition completion in May 2024 by Stone Point Capital, Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, and Mubadala Investment Company, followed by the sale of McGriff to Marsh McLennan for $7.75 billion and the earlier divestiture of its Crump life insurance distribution business. CRC said its proprietary REDY data and analytics platform, along with AI tools and proprietary capital vehicles, will be applied more broadly as part of the coordinated approach.
