Hong Kong’s IPO boom broadens into biotech, mining, and consumer deals

HKEX CEO Charles Chan said fundraising for new listings has topped $40 billion and that the pipeline spans sectors beyond technology.

CNBC World reports Hong Kong’s IPO boom is expanding beyond tech as more companies from other industries move into the listing pipeline.

According to CNBC World, HKEX CEO Charles Chan said firms in areas including biotechnology, mining, and consumer-focused businesses are among those also seeking to raise capital.

Chan said total fundraising has surpassed $40 billion, reflecting continued momentum for new listings in Hong Kong.

The comments suggest that the exchange’s deal flow is broadening across multiple sectors rather than remaining concentrated in a single theme.
