JLL Partners acquires Life Couriers, names new CEO
The deal brings a healthcare-focused logistics provider into JLL Partners ownership, while Life Couriers also tapped Edward DeMartini as CEO.
JLL Partners has acquired Munich, Germany-based Life Couriers, a provider of expedited and temperature-controlled logistics for healthcare shipments, the companies announced Monday. The firm specializes in radiopharmaceutical transport and other logistics services.
In a concurrent move, Life Couriers named Edward DeMartini as its CEO. DeMartini previously led The Quick Group of Companies until October, a time-critical logistics and priority transport provider owned by Kuehne+Nagel, after earlier roles at Kuehne+Nagel including vice president airfreight development.
Industry commentary cited alongside the announcement points to growing demand for healthcare logistics driven by stricter technical and compliance requirements, including cold-chain shipping needs for drugs and biologics. The article also highlights that large logistics operators such as DHL, FedEx and UPS have been investing in end-to-end temperature-controlled infrastructure and processes.
