Ping An P&C premiums rise 4% in H1 2026, driven by new energy auto

Ping An said it issued 177,000 natural-disaster early-warning alerts to about 120 million customers, estimating RMB 212 million in potential losses mitigated.

Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd. reported that its property and casualty (P&C) business recorded 4% year on year premium growth in the first half of 2026, with premium income rising to RMB178,751 million (about USD 26.56 billion), according to Reinsurance News.

The insurer said its new energy vehicle insurance premium climbed 21.5% year on year in H1 2026, while insurance revenue increased 3.8% year on year to RMB171,879 million (about USD 25.54 billion). Ping An highlighted its “insurance plus technology plus service” model, which handled an average of over three million customer interactions per day.

Ping An also detailed service and digital metrics, including initiatives to reduce friction for customers, and it reported that its Ping An Auto Owner app logged over 120 million active users in the 12 months ending June 30, 2026, with a customer satisfaction rate above 97%. For loss severity management, the company said it issued 177,000 natural-disaster early-warning alerts to roughly 120 million customers, mitigating an estimated RMB 212 million in potential losses during the six-month period.

Beyond P&C, Ping An reported life and health business growth, with new business value up 11.2% year on year to RMB24,847 million in H1 2026. For the Group overall, total revenues rose 12.6% year on year to RMB615,351 million (about USD 85.47 billion), operating profit increased 8.3% to RMB84,196 million (about USD 11.69 billion), and net profit surged 36.1% to RMB92,585 million (about USD 12.86 billion), according to the company results cited by Reinsurance News.
