Travelodge boss steps down after sexual assault at Maidenhead hotel

Travelodge said the incident in December 2022 led to an independent review of security measures across the hotel group.

The BBC reports that Jo Boydell, the chief of hotel chain Travelodge, is stepping down as the company faces scrutiny over safety at its properties.

According to the report, a woman staying at a Maidenhead hotel was sexually assaulted in December 2022 after a man lied to staff to obtain a key card for her room.

The incident prompted an independent review of security measures, as Travelodge assesses how its hotel access and safety procedures are operating.
